Even at my age I can jump higher than that! Seriously people, does living here make any sense at all? To purchase a million $ property in a coastal city and be only a mere 3 ft. above sea level? I guess residents of Naples wake up every day thanking God that a big ship didn’t dock overnight and create a wake that flooded the breakfast they planned in the courtyard? 🙂 This my friends makes zero sense. You want to live by an ocean? Maybe look into how far the tide would need to rise to have breakfast with you because at the end of the day water never, ever behaves, always traveling to a point of least resistance. Sheetrock, wood and foam house walls have a zero chance against a gush of intruding sea water. Maybe only if you lived in a stainless steel box will these walls survive unscathed after being flooded by a salty sea.
What are people thinking will happen when they live on a coast where tropical storms originating from Africa travel across the Atlantic Ocean annually to the warmest water they can find each and every year? That body of water is the Gulf of Mexico. Living anywhere along the Gulf of Mexico and your turn will come up because there’s no warmer sea anywhere on Earth than that contained inside the Gulf of Mexico. This is yet another reason why people should never eat oysters from the Gulf. Oysters harvested from the Gulf can be tasty but at the same time deadly, and without warning. Turns out that very warm sea water is botulism’s best friend, it’s a very poisonous bacterial toxin, extremely deadly and just about un-treatable once consumed by a human. A handful of Americans die each year from botulism, and many had consumed oysters from the Gulf of Mexico.
I grew up in Houston and fished in and around Galveston Island from a young age certainly more than one hundred times. Yet Galveston Island, Texas stands 19 ft. above sea level while Naples, Florida is but 3 ft. above sea level. Neighboring St. Petersburg and Tampa, Florida are both more than 40 ft. above sea level while in comparison Dallas, Texas is 900 ft. above sea level… thus, I have a better chance of dying from a tornado up here than a high tide which doesn’t make me any better than a Floridian but certainly smarter than any dumbass who’s poured a ton of his hard-earned money into a place that is a mere 3 ft. above drowning in Naples! 😉
As I mentioned many times on Fakebook over the past decade, there’s only One Thing Americans should worry over in this life – just one, and that one thing is “ignorance”, which I find no lack of abundance in in this life and it’s once again on full display here.
They could impose an income tax, vote in Soros backed judges, go blue with their governor, teach CRT in their schools and shutter the public because someone has a cold… Yeah, I’ll take the coast in Fl.
Well said! You might find some real estate deals there coming to a “theatre near you” soon…
