Seriously, I’ve spent more than half of my life being a “C+” in most things. Then I remembered how they named a popular software package after me when they called it “C++”. That’s when I knew there was demand out there for guys like me. Incompetency still sells, like they can sell this thing that’s not quite right [in the head]. And maybe that’s why they placed two “++”‘s behind the name of the software, just to give me some hope? I should start a “C+” club of my own – you know, for all the others out there like me? I guess it doesn’t take much to impress anyone, not these days anyway. I always had the idea that I would need to turn in at least a “B-” in life in order to really “be something” or make something of my life. Being that “B-” person, it just sounds better, it sounds like it could be someone that’s really good at stuff but maybe they were just having an off-day when they were evaluated? That’s what’s good about being the “B-” type, they tend to be excused when they screw up. What society hates is a slacker with brains. OMG, that’s a horrible combination because once society knows you possess a brain they no longer feel sympathy for you when you screw stuff up. They hate that! I think it’s sometimes good to go through life at least acting clueless, sometimes even helpless. Those kind of people seem to get the most breaks. Once you’re labeled a “C+”, it’s more like a confirmation that, yes – you truly do suck at things, but just lookey there, someone along the way someone added a “+” sign or two behind your rating just to boost your confidence because they felt sorry for you; but the fact of the matter is you still suck! 🙂
I, myself, I was hoping to reach that solid “B” level in life, then maybe one day I could approach the very coveted “A-” level? I mean forget the “A+”, that train left the station for me a long, long time ago. No, I think the world is full of guys like me, the “C+” types, we’re people that really aren’t very good at what we do, but we still find some “work arounds”. Keeping people from knowing that you suck, that you’re a “C” at most things, I think that could be the key here, because they might even believe you rate higher, [in their minds], than you deserve? Life is like that. You can really suck at things and there will always be one or more people, [besides our grandmother], that thinks you don’t. Just turn on the television, there’s thousands of people out there, even some with their own shows who suck immensely! It’s truly amazing how this works, we may suck at things but as long as we suck in a really “unique way”, then that’s acceptable? LMAO! Yes, bringing our very own “uniqueness” to sucking [at things] is apparently of importance. Which leads me to my own “uniqueness” statement: “You’re never going to meet someone that sucks in life quite as good as I do, I’m a C+++!” 🙂
Not me, I was straight up A. Type A personality, A student, it’s been the story of my life. A’s can however be quite deceiving. Let’s look at that elusive A; does it really mean what you think? On type A personalities, A is for Acceptable.
A student, yep, put the A in Average! I’ll stick with the C, really great at some things, really suck at others. Leave them guessing! LMAO!
It’s way better to go thru life acting stupid but knowing better? That way everyone will look at me as a non-threat, but I kinda suck at acting like I don’t know much, I still have to work on that part – Hahahaha!
