Destination: Heaven [almost]

Destination: Heaven [almost]

“Almost heaven, West Virginia –
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growin’ like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place, I belong –
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads…”

John Denver [and 2 writers]

I’ve been all over both Virginia’s, and drove for hours along the Shenandoah Trail where there’s so many curves on that road it’s futile to try and exceed 25 mph, for you could be killed navigating those old winding roads; where tall mountains once stood before they eroded into a beautiful maze of rolling hills. Like the song says, life is old there and it is.

This writing is about destinations and how no one ever includes Heaven on their bucket list of must visit places. Why is that? Well John Denver “almost” did. This truth may reside in the fact that everybody wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to die. Sounds familiar right? Mostly I’m hearing people exclaim how they can’t wait to visit spots across the US and Europe, even Africa and Asia. I’m guilty of this myself. Like I hopped in my car recently and spoke to my GPS, “Take me to Heaven”. I’ve never seen my GPS so confused! Turns out there’s not a GPS location available for Heaven. This is one destination where a GPS with its sophisticated technology is rendered useless. Add that to the fact that no one in Heaven ever came back to provide us with exact directions on just how to find them so I’m thinking this place called Heaven must be pretty exclusive?

I’m placing Heaven on my bucket list for sure but I may need a reservation as I’m thinking space is limited? [It is limited, more on that subject below]. I’m not going to ask if I’ll have my own high rise condo overlooking waves crashing onto a sandy beach below; or about having my own set of [standard issue] angel wings so I can fly around and only see what I want to see. However, I am pretty sure I won’t need to bring any cash with me; from what I read they don’t accept currencies anyway. So no U.S dollars or Euros or Japanese Yen or Bitcoins required, only what’s in our hearts, our souls, that’s pretty much all they accept for entrance into Heaven.

I’m thinking this writing is timely since it’s the first day of a New Year, that’s as good a time as any to begin preparing for your own Destination: Heaven journey. By starting to know God and what he wants from you in the year 2023 and beyond I’ll bet experts on the subject will be had by the time that your personal soul is called up [there]. The whole reason I include the Bible-ease section on Brantology.com is included in these passages and many others. God is looking for those that will share his message of faith and truth to expand his followers/ his kingdom. His aim is to always grow his “church” to the end of time [as we know it].

Biblical Commentaries –
Acts 9:31
“… Paul writes, All who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. However, if a believer experiences no form of persecution, it may mean that he doesn’t have a faith worth persecuting. Don’t be a secret agent Christian: go public with your trust in Christ.”

Acts 17: 32-34
“… Whenever and wherever you have opportunity, be faithful to make Jesus known and invite people to place their faith in him for the gift of eternal life. Then leave the rest in God’s hands as the Holy Spirit works in their hearts.”

Acts 22: 6-16
“… Many Christians want to know God’s purposes for their lives, but they’re unwilling to obey the clear commands that he’s already given. But God hits a moving target. Follow God in faith; do what you already know you’re supposed to do. By doing so, you’ll show him that you’re serious about pursuing him so that he can begin guiding, directing, and ordering your steps.”

So share your faith interests, your intuitions, messages of gladness, thankfulness, even glory, share the greatness of the gospel with those you love. It’s my plan to share as much as possible [on the subject] and I’ll continue to for as long as I own this site. You can read many great messages/references to bible passages as they apply to real-life within the Bible-ease Section of Brantology.com. It’s important stuff because otherwise all promises will end with this life; once this life has passed your continued existence is uncertain unless you have prepared for what comes after the life you know now. Therefore, I’d say placing Destination: Heaven on your bucket list of “must-see” places is a smart move! 😉

Good piece! Now on my bucket list, just hoping it’s not like #1 or 2. If it is however, I wouldn’t complain, it would just mean, that on this earth I will be forgotten.
