If you’re like-minded you want to save yourself from unnecessary technology applications and all the complications and headaches that can go along with it. I am so there in life now. I live in a very complicated world inside my head already, it’s like a circus act going on inside there; equipped with tightrope walkers, people that swallow swords, along with lion tamers basically running inside my thought processes it seems daily. I’ve tried to uncomplicate my brain’s over-activeness but alas, I gave up a long time ago so the show goes on. Since I’m already complicated the last thing I need is something that adds to that complication, if you know what I mean. At this stage in life I will take on new “complications” but usually only in small doses? I tend to weigh risk a bunch which often throws out ideas that get stuck “on my margin”. Like I can’t even believe that I talked myself into running a blog site. By the time it got complicated, and it did, my mind tricked me and threw in one of those, “hey, you screwed up, you trusted me, so you can’t stop now, there is no bailing out allowed”. But there were a few times I so wanted to bail, but my brain was right, it was [in effect] too late to back out. So here I am and here you are reading this diatribe. And you’re probably thinking to yourself, I’ve been there and done that. If this describes you, then read on.
I adopted a practice years ago and it just keeps paying dividends in the form of less headaches and less complications. I aim to stay two to three generations behind on any new technological innovation, “technology et. al.”, anything from software programs to hardware devices to TVs to phones to everything and anything “techies” get their hands on. You name it and I learned to never be out in front of these latest breakthroughs [in general]. My attitude on dealing with “techy” stuff has saved me no doubt tons of money as well as many headaches over the years. I’m going to let somebody else do that heavy lifting for me and report back, as they always will. You ever noticed that there’s always downside surprises with anything new in “tech”, always some new learning curve where the latest greatest new stuff fails, and much to everyone’s surprise [of course]. If you’ve also experienced this in the past maybe stop trying to be a “front-runner”, the “early adopter” because that position is often times more akin to being a guinea pig than a hero. No, just sit back and wait, observe, watch. Watch it fail [a few times] and hear the frustrations emanating from the early adopters who were once boasters of their genius. Plus, have you noticed that the price of anything techy usually drops after an initial launch, some failure, some patches, and now a re-launch? Which reminds me, I think it could be yet another decade before anything containing the word “crypto” catches my eye… 🙂
