Proof: Epiphanies Are Priceless!

Proof: Epiphanies Are Priceless!

Life is not about having everything we want, instead it’s about getting everything God wants us to have, everything God wants for each of us. And that’s something different, unique for all. We each have different talents and there are so many lives he’s working on and none of us is privy to his plan(s) which makes this whole notion of God’s will so interesting. Like someone once astutely wrote, “We don’t know what God’s doing right now, only what he’s done.”

Have you ever thought, why couldn’t I have been that star athlete? Or the one who earned a $billion dollars? Why not me? Maybe God wants to make sure you’re getting everything you deserve in this world, and not those things you don’t deserve, or maybe he’s using you for another purpose, or maybe he’s given you things but you rejected them not caring for them and instead sought out something else which made those opportunities he gave you disappear. Have you thought about how you became that person you see standing in front of the mirror? This whole idea for reflecting back on a life can sometimes open a can of worms [make that two cans], just trying and imagine all the possible scenarios. Maybe God provided what he wanted us to have but we weren’t ready [to care] for it? I’ve thought over this question as I’ve gotten older. Needless to say, the subject of who we are and what we’ve become [over time] can get very deep in a hurry. What one sees in one’s own mirror is a collection of that person’s decisions over a very long period of time. 🙂

I don’t have all the answers myself, but it’s interesting to ponder the many questions surrounding the subject. What I do know is that there are many examples in the old and New Testament of how God used various people to carry out his plans for his world [and his people] over time, and I’m fairly certain that if he could accomplish those things back then that he’s become even better at it now? You’re probably thinking that he only chooses those of royalty or status to carry out his plan(s). Quite to the contrary, he chose the rich the poor and in-between because God doesn’t see class or race or gender, he works indiscriminately. So the shoe-shine boy is just as likely to be selected to accomplish his will as a queen with servant attendees.

I’m still convinced that I was an experiment, God was probably trying out a new recipe for the first time when he made me. 🙂 However, I am confident about one thing and it’s the only thing that really matters – after looking back on my life God’s plan for me turned out far superior than any plan I could have mustered up. Hopefully you can look back on your life and feel the same way. Let me leave you with something to consider – ignore God’s will for you and you could end you up in the very same place anyway because God is sovereign over us. Now how’s that for a paradox?

Luke 9: 24-26
Acts 28: 30-31

“The Holy Spirit will do his greatest work in your life when you bear witness to Jesus Christ and live in submission to his kingdom rule. When you live under the umbrella of God’s kingdom agenda, the Holy Spirit is free to take you on your own life’s journey – sometimes it will be frustrating; sometimes it will prove frightening; but God will always fulfill his purposes for you.”
